“Our house is a conversion of a coach house dating back to 1790. The project is the culmination of a good few years of planning and sketching and the specification included the use of reclaimed materials from the original building and specially commissioned hardwood windows in a style peculiar to our village.

We were also keen to use natural materials and environmentally friendly systems wherever possible. We were fortunate to find Richard and his team through a recommendation from a friend who felt he would be sympathetic to our ideals and this has indeed proved to be the case.

His ability to see beyond the lines of a plan to a finished project has resulted in a house that sits very happily in its environment. Most importantly, throughout the build, his support, knowledge and enthusiasm gave us the confidence to press forward and investigate ecological alternatives to standard building systems and materials.

We would not hesitate to use him as the earliest point of reference in any future project.”

“We found Richard Arnold excellent to work with at Ayshford Chapel. The quality of the conversion campaign he executed there was exemplary and it has quite justifiably been widely praised.”

Coldharbour Mill

“Richard Arnold & Barry Lang of Arnold & Lang undertook an extensive restoration at Coldharbour Mill, Uffculme of the combing shed, rope race and boiler house roof.

The work was painstakingly carried out to the satisfaction of the client. Richard and Barry were helpful and co-operative through out the project, providing useful practical solutions to unforeseen problems as they arose.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Richard with his new endeavour of Devon Ecobuild to any prospective clients.”

“We have been delighted with their work on all fronts. Quotations were clearly detailed, and kept to. We were kept well informed throughout about progress, snags were brought to our attention and solutions costed and agreed. Standards of workmanship were high. Once the job was started, work continued until finished with no premature leaving to start the next one.”
